Oh, how I love the humor in the cartoons of the New Yorker!
You must have heard it before, when they say “On the Internet, nobody knows you’re a dog” and I am always amused by it.
Today I stumbled upon this saying in an article and decided to look it up: It’s a saying which actually began as a cartoon caption by Peter Steiner and published by The New Yorker on July 5, 1993. A few years later, this was the magazine’s most reproduced cartoon and, at the time, it symbolized internet privacy and the ability of users to send and receive messages in general anonymity.
I find this hairy ottoman-thing, hilarious! I want one for my living room (I know our cat wants it already)

“Ugly sweater season greeting card” by Dizzy Cactus
Holiday gift cards by Fifty Five Hi’s
‘Tis the season to be jolly and the season to be funny! This is a selection of my favorite funny christmas cards for this year. Emily McDowell’s humorous and relatable cards are on top of my list.
Oh, these keyboard-shaped waffles look great! Attention, computer nerds and waffle lovers of the world, this is for you! Imagine putting all that maple syrup in Shift and Enter buttons…
If you are interested, the Keyboard Waffle Iron even has its own website! CTRL+ALT+DELicious!
The Falling Cats ornament set made me laugh.
Ikea organized a competition for children to draw a fantasy toy. The 10 winning entries were then turned into cute plush toys and Ikea will sell them around the world as part of its Soft Toys For Education campaign. Check out this video to see more for the procedure. Such a great idea and for a good cause!
Now that we are proud owners of a cat, this caught my attention. Obi is a beautifully designed fun toy for cats. It is a device that sits on a shelf but when activated, it projects a laser light on the wall, that makes cats go wild trying to “catch” the light. Although quite expensive, it’s worth checking out its Kickstarter campaign.
I love these absurd and humorous drawings by Marc Johns. “Finding the humour in things often leads to finding the truth” he says, true I say… They are all original ink and watercolor artworks sold in his shop, by the way.
