N. Glaise was a painter in Paris. In 1882, he published a booklet with these gorgeous hand-painted alphabets as a guideline for hand-lettered signage on buildings.

I just love the look of these vintage alphabets and have already used some of them for inspiration in my lettering moodboards.

You can view and download all the album here.

The future table for living from Ikea

giphy

A table that tells you what you can make with various ingredients and also heats your food, no stove required? “A Table for Living” is a concept from Ikea for the future kitchen of 2025.

Ikea made an impression in this year’s EXPO Milan 2015, where they presented their prototype for a concept table that helps you decide what to prepare, suggests recipes, but also weighs and heats the food. All that, besides being a regular kitchen table! The designers see the concept table as a “preparation surface, hob, dining table, work bench and children’s play area”. How cool is that?

Project Apollo archive

Apollo mission photos NASA

All color and b&w photographs taken during all the Apollo missions are uploaded on this fascinating Flickr gallery. These historic photographs are all unprocessed, high resolution film scans provided by NASA and the Johnson Space Center. You can also see the famous 1969 photos of the first landing on the moon which was during Apollo mission 11 .

This is also a fun video: someone thought of putting together all the Apollo photos in a video, making it look like stop motion animation.

A garden igloo

Garden Igloo 360-open

A great idea if you have a garden: a multipurpose igloo designed both as a winter garden and a summer sitting or playing area. Oh, I know my kids would go crazy with this! Of course you could just turn it into a storage room or a garden shelter, but it’s a shame because it looks too good.
